Wendy Nunes, MD
Urologist
Dr. Wendy Nunes brings nearly two decades of experience in urology and a passion for providing thoughtful, personalized care. She earned both her bachelor’s degree in biology and her medical degree from the University of Missouri–Columbia.
Dr. Nunes first discovered her interest in urology during her third year of medical school while completing rotations in the major surgical specialties. She was drawn to the combination of procedures, clinical care, and the opportunity to build lasting relationships with patients. She especially appreciated the work-life balance offered by the specialty and the enthusiasm of her urology preceptor, who encouraged her to pursue the field.
Her training included additional urology rotations at the University of Missouri and the University of Arizona, followed by four years of urology residency. She completed her residency in 2007 and began practicing immediately, bringing extensive experience to her work as a urologist. One of the aspects she values most about urology is the opportunity to care for patients over many years and develop meaningful, long-term relationships.
Outside of work, Dr. Nunes enjoys reading, cooking, and baking, especially sourdough and desserts, as well as gardening, photography, exercise, traveling, and spending time with her family. She also enjoys working on her rural property and volunteering in her community, including serving on her son’s high school Wrestling Booster Club board and speaking with local high school students about contraception options.
