Western Wisconsin Health is excited to announce that construction is progressing on the new fitness center and warm water therapeutic pool addition. This new addition will open on Monday, March 6, 2017.

The plan for the new 12,800 square foot fitness center and therapeutic pool features many updates such as a drop-in play room, a 1,500 square foot private fitness studio for group exercise classes, and brand new cardio and strength equipment throughout the entire facility. The spacious locker rooms will feature more showers and lockers for guests. The new assisted changing room will provide privacy for families with young children, seniors in need of dressing assistance, as well as those with special needs. The therapeutic pool includes a new Hoyer lift, an increased depth of 5’6”, a new water treatment system to reduce chlorine levels, and two propulsion jets that have been added for resisted swimming and water running. The therapeutic pool floor will be cushioned and the pool deck will be larger to accommodate classes such as heated yoga.

Earlier this year, the Western Wisconsin Health Foundation launched a $2 Million “Wellness is Our Future” capital campaign. Thanks to amazing generosity from local businesses, local foundations, fitness center members, members of the community, and staff, Western Wisconsin Health has raised nearly $1.6 Million. However, another $400,000 in philanthropic support is needed to raise the remaining funds.  

The community is invited to the Fitness Center and Therapeutic Pool Grand Opening Celebration on Thursday, March 2 from 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm. We will have tours of the fitness center and therapeutic pool, class demos, healthy refreshments, giveaways, membership sign-up, and much more.
