Family Practice Nurse Practitioner
Karissa Hanson earned her Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) from Chamberlain University in Chicago. Her passion for primary care stems from her experience in hospital settings, where she observed the importance of preventative care and the need for stronger patient-provider relationships. Driven to bridge the gap in healthcare access for rural communities, she is dedicated to ensuring her patients receive the care they need close to home.
Karissa’s career began as a nurse in a nursing home and as a pediatric home care nurse, followed by her role as a med/surg charge nurse at a critical access hospital. As a Nurse Practitioner, she gained extensive experience in chronic pain and addiction management before transitioning to primary care.
In her free time, Karissa enjoys reading murder mysteries, hiking at state parks, and boating. These days, her two little ones keep her plenty busy, but she cherishes every moment of adventure and relaxation with her family.
